Day 1 in the Bahamas
April 18th, 2007
Rum Cay
|
Our trip began at 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening when our car arrived to pick us up and drive us to LAX to catch our plane to Miami. After the 4 hour red-eye and a lack of sleep, we then caught our private charter that would take us directly to the island the boat was currently anchored off of. |

Arriving to the island via private airplane from Miami. |

Our captain did a few fly by’s of the boat to get some pictures. |

Our First Dive: Garrath and Dain had arranged for our first dive to be off the boat as soon as we landed. After only two hours of sleep during the red eye from LAX to Miami, Chris was the only one that had the energy to make it out.

Going off the back of the boat was so much nicer than having to gather the gear and trek out to the site. |

Our Second Dive: After lunch, the boat picked up anchor and dropped us off to do a drift dive off the other end of Rum Cay. Dan, Chris & I jumped off the back of the boat and quickly descended to about 130’ for our first wall dive. The sights were spectacular and we were so excited about the ease of the preparation.
